Timeless elegance can be measured

If you were to approach the former fishing village of Portofino from the sea, the picturesque old houses could easily trick you into thinking that time had stood still, until you suddenly notice the sleek yachts with their luxury interiors and state-of-the-art technology lying at anchor. The elegant Portofino Chronograph provokes a similar reaction; its striking chronograph push-buttons are reminiscent of the cockpit of 1960s Italian sports cars. In much the same style, the stopwatch displays bring a distinctly sporty touch to the entire Portofino family. The watch, which features a convex sapphire glass and appliquéd Roman numerals, is driven by the time-tested self-winding 75320 calibre with its 44-hour power reserve. Apart from the classical alligator leather straps, there is a choice of cool but snug-fitting Milanese mesh bracelets that underscore the timeless character of the Porto-fino Chronograph.

This is a watch that you can only refer to as beautiful, not impressive not loud just perfectly beautiful.

  • Ardoise 1 year, 4 months ago

That Milanese Steel mesh bracelet is sublime.

  • Roberto 1 year, 4 months ago

It would be nice to see the clasp of the steel mesh. What is the interlug width of the watch, 20, 21 or 22 mm?

  • Sunflower 1 year, 4 months ago

Great looking watch, and I love that mesh bracelet: a wonderful alternative to those beautiful leather straps, when it is hot, or just for fun!

  • mmotyka 1 year, 3 months ago

    ehmmmm, iconic

Milanese mesh bracelet in stainless steel
    is absolutely adorable!

  • Zerkin 1 year, 3 months ago

Do you guys think it will look alright on a 21 year old boy, wearing shorts and ray-bans ? Even with a leather strap ?

  • david_liu 1 year, 3 months ago

A typo for leather strap intro of black face watch:
seems it should be "Black"alligator leather strap, not "Brown" alligator leather strap.

Is it safe to assume that the caseback is transparent like the first two pieces in the family?

    how much for this one?

    how much is it'

  • Tameless 12 months ago

Beautiful watch. The only drawback with this watch is too little water resistance

  • DS 11 months ago

Great watch, but no luminosity, and only 3 bar water resistant. Most buyers of IWC would expect a minimum of 5-10 bar so you can go for a swim, and be able to look at you watch at your bedside table to see the time without switching the light on.

    Basic stuff IWC.

  • hoggyvillage 11 months ago

A stunning watch. Tried on on the wrist yesterday and the larger size retains real elegance.

  • Jéjé 11 months ago

Beautiful watch, beautiful bracelet, just one thing I dislike : the so called romans numeral XII and VI which cut through are unreadable and, to my taste, are breaking the balance of the dial especially at VI o'clock.

  • 8541 11 months ago

Classic Lines - great strap. I want one!

I've just bought my first IWC watch - Portofino 391002 last week from IWC Singapore authorized retailer, The Hour Glass. The watch is such a beauty! Excellent watch indeed though it took me a while to get use to the thin leaf-shaped minute/hour hands. I am still mesmerized by its elegance and classy style every day.

I'm looking for the IW391006, may I ask, do you have any authorized retailer at Charles-de-Gaulle airport in Paris and do they have the model IW391006 or IW391010. I have a trip through that airport and hope that I can buy one there.
    Thanks

We have seen the difference in calibre 79320 by iw391001 and the caliber 75320 by iw391007. Is that correct?
If yes, what is the difference between these two calibres?
79320 produced by IWC and 75320 produced by 3rd party company?
